COMMITTEE MESSAGE
A couple of questions have been thrown to them as a guide for them to start on and it's amazing to see what kind of unique answers they give. The question goes like this...

As a SFA youth committee...
1. How do you feel?
2. What are your objectives/goals?
3. What's your vision?
4. What do you hope for?

Edmund Kwok (Chairperson)

Being in this youth committee for the past 2 years or so has brought many feelings, both positive and negative. I am very proud to be a part of the youth committee which has successfully revived the youths that was once considered 'dead' by many. It was an interesting experience, albeit a tiring one, and it's a journey that I would very much reconsider. But here I am today, if not by my will but His, to serve in this youth committee. I am nothing more than an instrument that will be guided by the hand of the Lord to work His ways.

I hope to see more youths to be hungry for God, thirsting for the Word, and experiencing the love of Christ, all through the Holy Spirit! I believe that at this age, it is vital that we can see Him working in our daily lives. And further offer ourselves to His will, so that we can face every trial and tribulation, knowing that He is by our side. Pope Benedict once said in his homily, 'I say to you, dear young people: Do not be afraid of Christ! He takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive a hundredfold in return.'

This youth committee will be an avenue for youths to build their spiritual foundation, along with their physical, mental, emotional and social needs. We will have numerous activities and events which are fun filled and of course, Spirit filled! Who says serving God is no fun? Journeying together with youths of the same faith would very much help build and strengthen my own. After all, I'm still in a journey, to experience the fullness of Christ's body and blood.

Stephanie Santiago (Vice Chairperson)

Well, to begin with, I feel very happy and honoured to be entrusted with this duty. To tell you the truth, I didn't expect to get this but its all God's plan right? I have to admit that it's not easy but surely, I will do my best to keep the youths 'alive'.

This term, the theme I chose was to do everything for the glory of God. The few goals I want to achieve are to bring more youths together in more activities and bring in the 'lost' sheep back. Another mission of mine will be to raise the spiritual level of the youths by bringing them to Christ through prayer, teaching, and community outreach. Not forgetting all the usual fun activities including camps to bring youths together.

All in all, being part of the youth committee have been and will be lots of fun. Knowledge was gained, new friendships were formed, people got closer and talents grew. This will surely continue for years to come. The most important thing is to do our best and leave a good impression on others. Lead by example... =)

My goals are simple. They are to support, counsel and help in the committee in any way I can, in time that is given to me.

A place where youths are free and in Gods entire care. Not as a shelter but as committee where we care about each other. And face the challenges of the outside world. Of course with pray, singing and praising God as always!

I hope that more "runway" youths like me, might come back and have faith in the church. That her shining light of hope and faith be a beacon to all those that facing a troubled world out there everyday. And that the teachings of the church transcend time itself for her teachings are everlasting in time. That their faith in life never burns out. And that God is before everything in their lives.

Clement Chhin (Event Organizer)

Being a part of the committee member is the best thing ever happen to me. Not really the best but one of the best. To me, if an event is held, it feels great to help to organized and at the same time participate in it. Amongst members, although I am one of the youngest, but we were all treated the same like an adult. The experiences being in the committee has help me to develop in becoming a more mature and overall balanced person. My objectives throughout the years is of course, help the committee to organized and plan many more activities for the youths in SFA.
